Foss was contracted by SwiftX to fabricate and install structural footing reinforcements for seven equipment platforms and sixteen conveyor lines throughout their facility. This industrial construction project relied heavily on custom metal fabrication and prefabrication, with our shop pre-fabricating 225 baseplates and cutting over 230 angle pieces and 38 W-beams prior to installation. Our team performed the onsite layout, measuring all angles and beams to ensure an exact fit at every column location. The installation phase included welding on clips, setting 3-1/2″ x 1/2″ angle braces, and anchoring 20″ and 10″ baseplates at each platform and conveyor footing. For the larger platforms, Foss also installed W6x25 columns and headers, W6x20 beams, and 4″ diameter columns with 12″ baseplates to fully support the existing equipment. The extensive prefabrication allowed our crews to complete the industrial equipment installation with minimal disruption to the facility’s operations.
